2020 Vision
Isaiah 30:18 “Therefore the Lord waits (expectantly) and longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed (happy, fortunate) are all those who long for Him (since He will never fail them.”
Every year before the new year, I ask God to give me a word for the upcoming year to help me with my vision and focus. I have done this for about the past 7 years and it has been a fun journey for me. I don’t always hear clearly, so I ask God to show me or speak to me what He is wanting me to focus on for the next year ahead. These words have really been so helpful and encouraging to me.
Last year in 2019, my word was victory. It was such a valuable word God gave me as the year went on. I first thought it was such an exciting word, but throughout the year I started to realize He gave it to me so I would hold onto hope during some difficult circumstances. I actually started understanding that if my word was victory that that means there is some kind of battle I will be in if I am going to receive victory. As hard as some of the battles were for me and my family over the past year, God continued to bring us through in victory. It was so powerful to hold on to hope in the middle of every battle because one word from God changes everything. His words to us bring us hope, life, and vision to see to the other side.
I am truly excited about all of the possibilities of 2020! I believe it is going to be such an incredible decade of breakthrough and great things from God. He is going to bring us further and release even more of His power and glory upon the earth than ever before. We are living in an incredible time on the earth.
God is preparing His people to walk in victory, authority over the enemy, and with His glory surrounding us. He is making a way where there would be no way without His power. He is calling His children to walk in the fullness of who He made them to be, walk as Jesus walked. We are called to take Him at His Word and believe we are who He says we are in the Word of God. We are called to do what He says we can do because greater is Jesus in us than satan that is in the world. He is calling us to step into the true identity of who God intended us to be, a dearly loved child of God.
We are equipped with the power of God to live in victory over every circumstance we face, not because of ourselves but because of Jesus and what He has done for us on the cross. He was raised from the dead and now reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and He did it all for us. The Bible reminds us that it was because of His great love for us that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. It is so awesome to know and believe in our hearts that we are so dearly loved that God would go to any measure, the extremist measure of His Son dying for us, in order to save us.
He is amazing!
I want you to be filled with courage and confidence today about your value to God and how He desires to help you walk in your true identity as His child. He longs to help you and rescue you from difficult circumstances to give you His answers and His perspective on everything. I need Him daily. I face so many circumstances with being a mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend that I need His wisdom. I need His help and vision to pull me up higher out of my circumstances. If I will simply ask Him to help me and give me His vision, He will change my sight and renew my strength and hope.
Every struggle I went through last year was an opportunity for me to ask God for help and reach out to receive His grace in my time of need. Every time He came to my rescue and gave me His strength.
If I could give you one thing this new year to focus on it would be to run to God for help and answers in every situation you face this year. Parenting and marriage are awesome but also come with struggles and challenges. Relationships with people are awesome but they come with struggles and challenges. Without God we don’t have the answers to the problems and the strength to walk out the solutions.
He can’t wait to help you and walk with you and talk with you daily. Turn to Him in this new year and start off this new year with His vision of 2020. Start by asking Him for a word for your new year. He will show you a word. If you don’t see it or hear it right away, don’t worry, be patient and keep asking. All of the sudden, it will appear to you. You will suddenly see it or hear it inside your heart. I encourage you to try it this year. You will be strengthened with courage because you will have confidence at the very beginning of this new year that God is with you! And trust me, He is with you and longs to be compassionate to you. Isaiah 30:18 says, “Therefore the Lord waits (expectantly) and longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed (happy, fortunate) are all those who long for Him (since He will never fail them.”
I am going to leave you with one last thought. When I was reading my Bible in early December, I was reading a passage in Romans and then suddenly a word jumped off the page. I knew when I read it that it was my word for 2020. It was like it was highlighted with a holy highlighter from the Holy Spirit. My word for 2020 is UNLIMITED. God is bringing unlimited resources in every area of my life. He is taking me to a place beyond my limitations to His unlimited ability and power. He is giving me unlimited peace, love, joy, power, grace, revelation, insight, vision, and opportunities in 2020! I am holding onto this hope no matter what circumstances may look like. I believe. I pray this for you today. I pray that you will be filled with courage and hope knowing He is for you. Here is the verse out of Romans that He wants you and I to get ahold of today as we are entering the beginning of 2020 with unlimited possibilities.
Romans 8:37-39 (amp) “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us( so much that He died for us). For I am convinced (and continue to be convinced-beyond any doubt) that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, not things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the (unlimited) love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
