Have you ever felt like there is no hope? In different times in my life I have felt such strong emotions try to take me over and tell me there is no hope. I have been through some circumstances in life that feel hopeless. I have walked through the fire several times in my life and it has felt so challenging to not lose hope.

When I have fallen into a pit that feels hopeless, I have found that the most powerful thing I can do is to go to the source of truth in my life, the Word of God, The power of God’s Word will defeat the lie from the devil that there is no hope. The devil is the father of lies and constantly tries to get us to take his bait and believe the lie he is dangling in front of us. I have believed them before and opened the door for the enemy to then have power in my life, but no more will I choose to open the door to lies. Satan is constantly wanting you and I to believe what he says over what God says. We have to be alert and aware of the thoughts floating in our heads that are trying to persuade our thinking to go against the truth of God’s Word, the Bible, and resist biting into the lie.

The battlefield really is in our mind. If the devil can convince us to believe the lie that we are in a hopeless situation, he now has come into our mind and taken control. We allow the enemy to have territory through our beliefs. The key to victory over the schemes of the enemy is to fix our mind on the promises of God and receive them as the Truth in our lives.

I love this verse in Romans and it rings in my head when the enemy is trying to get me to lose hope and believe the lie that things will never change and that God isn’t for me. As I read the words in Romans, they are life giving to me. I serve the God of all hope and He has promised to fill me with joy and peace through the power of the Holy Spirit. When I allow HIs hope to fill my soul, I will abound in hope and overflow with confidence in His promises. I love this so much. God has promised me that He will supernaturally fill me to overflowing with hope when I believe Him and take Him at His Word. How many times do we read a verse and think it is great, but stop short of receiving it for ourselves?

I have learned to simply believe what God says more than I believe what the enemy tells me that is a lie about my life. God is my source and He is the one that is limitless. He is the miracle worker and the way maker. He is the one that can part the Red Seas in my life and yours. He is the one that gives us the faith to take down Goliaths in our lives. He has given us the faith to move mountains, faith even as small as a mustard seed will produce miracle results.

When I choose to believe God and His ability that is greater and more powerful than the devil’s ability, I am filled with faith, I begin to set my mind on the truth that my God will supply everything I need and lead me to victory in every situation. The real battle is within myself. I have to resist the hopeless thoughts, the overwhelming emotions, and the spirit of fear trying to take me down. Instead I need to pick up the sword of the Spirit of God, the Holy Bible, and believe it, speak it and receive it as my own.

Friend, God is for you! He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He is on the move and doing a new thing in your life in this season. Will you silence the voice of the enemy telling you that things are so bad or difficult that you should just lose hope that things will ever change. I can tell you this, if you will take authority over the voice of the enemy, and receive the promises of God for yourself, you will be filled with hope to overflowing and total confidence in the goodness of your God. His goodness is chasing you down and will bring beauty out of any broken pieces of your life.

Be filled with hope today and never again lose hope because God is working in your life to build, restore, and renew your strength like the eagles that soar above the storms. My prayer for you today is to see the hand of God in the midst of your storm and trust Him to fulfill His promises in your life. Let hope arise!
